Episode 232: Une Année

It’s been awhile since Brad Chmielewski and Ken Hunnemeder have stopped in at a local brewery on the show. For this episode they check out one of the newest Chicago breweries, Une Année to chat with Jerry Nelson and Dustin Zimmerman. Brad and Ken have had a couple Une Année beers on previous episodes but it’s always great to taste them on site and with the brewers. They also learn about the name and how this Belgian inspired brewery came together. If you’re in Chicago, be on the look out for Une Année’s beers on tap and in the store.

Episode 230: St. Feuillien Triple & Une Année Tripel

Ready to join  Brad Chmielewski and Ken Hunnemeder in the hot tub for Hop Cast Time Machine? That’s right in episode 230 Brad and Ken are in the hot tub opening two Tripels. First up is the Une Année Tripel. Une Année is one of the newest Chicago breweries and is making some great beer; this 8.7 % ABV Tripel is no exception. After that little guy is gone Brad and Ken move onto an 8.5 % ABV magnum of St. Feuillien Triple. A magnum of any beer is the perfect party beer.

Cheers! And thank you for watching the Hop Cast!

HopCast Episode 223

Episode 223: Une Année Less is More & Maya

We love seeing all the new breweries popping up in Chicago. The only thing better is getting a chance to sample some of their tasty offerings. In episode 223 of the Hop Cast, Ken Hunnemeder and Brad Chmielewski crack open a couple bottles from Une Année. Une Année is a Chicago Brewery focused on making good beer with an emphasis on Belgian and French styles. If you’re outside of Chicago, sorry but it might be hard to find anything that brewers Jerry Nelson & Dustin Zimmerman are putting out. We were lucky enough to get a couple bottles from them. First up is the Less is More, a 4.6 % ABV Saison / Farmhouse Ale. It’s definitely light and refreshing and at 4.6% ABV, how could you not want another? Next Ken and Brad open Maya, a 7.6 & ABV Belgian IPA. This one was also great! If this is a sign of what Une Année will be bringing to the Chicago beer scene, then it’s likely you’ll be seeing everyone wanting a taste.

Cheers and thanks for watching the Hop Cast!
