Episode 152: Coffee Oatmeal Imperial Stout

Brad Chmielewski and Ken Hunnemeder are doing another vertical tasting in episode 152. This time they visit three years of Terrapin’s Coffee Oatmeal Imperial Stout. It was fantastic to get to try three years of this beer, big thanks for Donald Monroe for sending them to us. Each year proved to be very different then the other and shows that when you’re cellaring your beers you don’t always know what you’re going to get. If you live in an area of the country that Terrapin distributes, make sure you grab one of these up.

Hop Cast – Episode 87

In episode 87 of the Hop Cast, Ken Hunnemeder and Brad Chmielewski make a stop at Terrapin Beer Company. Spike Buckowski, the head brewer and founder of Terrapin was kind enough to chat about some of the history of the brewery and a few of the great upcoming projects. Its crazy to find out that Terrapin won a gold medal at the 2002 GABF for their Rye Pale Ale with only being a six month old brewery. Terrapin continues to crank out a ton of beers, so many even they have a hard time keeping track. Every couple of weeks you can usually count on seeing a new Terrapin beer at the store or pub. If you happen to see a Terrapin beer, be sure to pick it up because they make some excellent beers.
